In 1995, a new food trend emerged from San Francisco. Bruce McGee and Fay Price were there, and they couldn’t help getting excited about the first “gourmet burrito.” No longer just about salsa and refried beans, these hand-held meals, filled with tasty foods from all cultures, caught on quickly as a healthy alternative to conventional fast food.

Inspired, Bruce and Fay saw a unique business opportunity and excitedly made plans to open Canada’s first “wraps-only” restaurant. Fay’s sister, Elaine, and brother-in-law, Chris, joined the team, and together they made the dream a reality.

The Right Ingredients
The partners searched for the right location and began to source products. But it wasn’t always easy to find goods that measured up to the sisters’ gourmet standards. Fay, no slouch in the kitchen, went to work creating her own tasty recipes with an international flair. In October 1996, with their exclusive line of sauces and much determination, the partners opened their flagship location in Vancouver — and it was an instant success.

Continuing Growth

Since 1997, WrapZone restaurants have expanded to locations throughout British Columbia, each individually owned by an entrepreneur passionate about offering superior-quality food and service. These franchisees play a vital role in the continued success of the company, along with WrapZone customers, who simply must be commended for their fabulous taste in food.
